Featured MLB Video: Manny Ramirez Leaving Fenway Park for the Las Time

July 31st, 2008 admin Posted in MLB Video | No Comments »

After I did a recent post, about how Manny Ramirez was leaving to go play with the Los Angeles Dodgers; I wanted to see what kind of videos I could find on the internet on Manny Ramirez. Surprisingly I found this video.

This video shows Manny Ramirez leaving Fenway park for the last time. I am kind of impressed on how fast this video was uploaded. For those that cannot see the video, there is not talking or anything special like that. It just shows Manny putting stuff into the trunk of his SUV, organizing his bats and saying good-bye to a few friends.

It is kind of sad, because it is all quiet and he is not moving energetically, just slowly, like he is soaking it all in. From what I have read though he is glad to finally get out of Boston. So watching this video you have seen the last time Manny Ramirez left Fenway Park as a Red Sock.

What are your thoughts of the video? Are you glad Manny Ramirez is leaving the Boston Red Sox?

Was Manny Ramirez To L.A. a Good Trade?

July 31st, 2008 admin Posted in Baseball News | No Comments »

If you are very up to date in baseball news, you will have seen that the great Manny Ramirez was Traded to Los Angeles in a three way trade between the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Boston Red Sox and The Pittsburgh Pirates. Your first impressions may be the same that I had, “Why did Boston trade Manny Ramirez?

Manny Ramirez

That is exactly what I thought when I first heard the news, then after I heard the full story on this I fully understand. So let me break down to you this three way trade: Manny Ramirez has wanted out of boston for a while, and you have to think he was not playing his best. He was still working hard, but he probably was not giving a full 100% (Who would give 100% for a team you do not want to play for?). This was his last year of an 8 year contract with the Boston Red Sox, so they tried to get something for him.

That is when the Los Angeles Dodgers picked up Manny Ramirez, as they are in run for the playoffs. They hope that Manny Ramirez is just what they need in order for them to make the playoffs and possibly even the world series. The only problem was that Los Angeles had nothing to give Boston in return. This is where Pittsburgh came into the picture.

Pittsburgh gave a well-round player, Jason Bay, to Boston. Jason Bay will take the position Manny Ramirez had.

Now, we all know that Pittsburgh is terrible. They are trying to rebuild, so they gave Jason Bay to the Boston Red Sox for two minor leaguers from Boston and two from Los Angeles as well.

Was this a good trade? I do believe so, and let me tell you why. Each team got what they needed. Los Angeles got Manny to help boost their offense, Pittsburgh got young players and hope to be a much better team in the future and Boston got a just as good player in Jason Bay to replace Manny Ramirez. Remember Manny didn’t even want to be in Boston, so Boston did was right, and they both went their separate ways. I think Los Angeles will benefit the most from this trade, because Manny Ramirez can put more runs on the board which will ultimately help the Los Angeles Dodgers win more games.

Hello, and welcome to the brand new edition of MLBVideo.org

My name is Travis Reynolds, and I am the brand new owner of this site. I plan on enhancing this site so you will want to come back more often! Maybe you would like to know a little bit about me. I am seventeen years old, I have been designing websites for about seven years now. My main sport is wrestling, I fell in love with the sport in 7th grade. 3 years ago however I gave up every single sport I did just to focus on wrestling.

I did however play baseball for 9 years, and I was pretty good at it. I played left field, 3rd base and catcher. Whatever team I was on I usually led the team in stills, and would usually bat in the 4th, 5th, or 6th spot. I love baseball still, but my main focus is wrestling.

I live in the Seattle, WA area so my favorite team is the Mariners. Yes I love those Mariners, even though when I watch them they always seem to get there rear ends handed to them which really upsets me. So I get mad when I watch them.

So if you have any questions I would love to get an email from you, you can send me ideas, ask questions, or do anything else that would put a smile on my face. So bookmark this site, and check daily!
